Qutub Minar

                Qutub minar is named after Qutub-ud-din-Aibak. It is  one of the famous Indian heritage sites located at Mehrauli in Old Delhi. Qutub Minar is the second tallest minaret in the world made up of bricks with a height of 73 meter (239.5 ft).It contains a spiral staircase of 379 steps. The first three storeys of the Qutub Minar are made of red sandstone and the last two are made of marble and sandstone.           Qutab Minar was established along with Quwwat-ul-Islam Mosque around 1192 by Qutab-ud-din Aibak, the first ruler of the Delhi Sultanate. But he only constructed the basement. The construction of the tower was later taken over by his successor Iltutmish who constructed three more stories.
