Every year we celebrated the World Meteorological
Day on 23rd March. It is observed on 23rd March every
year to commemorate the establishment of the World Meteorological Organisation,
which is a specialised agency formed by the United Nations. This organisation
announces a slogan for World Meteorology Day every year, and this day is
celebrated in all member countries. Its significance is to ‘support for
environmental protection’, and it begun on 23rd March 1961. Nowadays,
World Meteorological Organisation (WMO) has made immense progress and helped
the world to be a better place. The headquarter of this organisation is
situated in Geneva, Switzerland.
The World Meteorological Organisation
(WMO), an organisation of the United Nations, was created on 23rd
March 1950 to replace the International Meteorological Organisation. It began
operations in 1951 to coordinate member nation in the fields of meteorology,
operational hydrology, and Earth sciences for the security of their population.
The first World Meteorological Day was held on 23rd March 1961.
